Learning outcomes: Knowledge: have a theoretical knowledge about evolutionary processes in biology, classical and evolutionary taxonomy BI2_W08_TP, analyze phylogenetic trees, understands models and algorithms for their construction BI2_W08_TP, understand the differences in classical and molecular approach to phylogeny BI2_W08_TP Skills: is able to prepare a dataset for phylogenetic analysis BI2_U03, BI2_U04, BI2_U05, BI2_U08_TP, BI2_U11_BP, can perform phylogenetic analysis resulting in the creation of a tree with several methods and correctly interpret the results BI2_U03, BI2_U04, BI2_U05, BI2_U08_TP, BI2_U11_BP, can verify the obtained trees and is able to test the significance of the resulting topology and estimate genetic distances between clades on the tree BI2_U03, BI2_U04, BI2_U05, BI2_U08_TP, BI2_U11_BP Social competences:
Assessment methods and assessment criteria: Completion of the course: student will prepare a project containing elements implemented during the exercise and requiring interpretation of the results and drawing conclusions based on them.
